Homeroom: Comfort Music +
Performance with Scott Rubin
2025
Comfort Music + is a weekly performance series curated by Homeroom every Thursday in April at Comfort Station in Logan Square, Chicago. Comfort Music + presents music acts combined with another performative medium, including video, dance, spoken word, and puppetry. The 2025 series was curated by musician/interdisciplinary artist Scott Rubin, featuring new collaborations between musicians and video artists.
I collaborated with Scott Rubin on a 25-minute projection performance. He played improvisational viola and manipulated the audio effects within Max MSP. He wore wristband with gyroscopic sensors, and he sent that data to my TouchDesigner software over OSC networking. I used point cloud data from a Kinect Azure combined with the real-time audio and wrist sensor data to create four unique scenes of real-time generative art.
